Stretching Anatomy anatomically shows fitness and stretching enthusiasts and recreational athletes 16 of the best stretches for improving flexibility of specific body regions—neck; shoulders, back & chest; arms, wrists & hands; lower trunk; hips; knees & thighs; and feet & calves. Each stretch shows the stretch name, static anatomical illustration, step-by-step stretch instructions, and stretch notes. Plus, tapping on a static anatomical illustration takes you to a new screen with an Interactive Muscle Identifier feature or a Stretch Animation.
Eleven of the exercises include the Interactive Muscle Identifier feature that shows which muscles are being stretched during each exercise. Simply tap a muscle name in the list, and the muscle will be highlighted in the accompanying illustration. Tapping on the “most-stretched” or “least-stretched” buttons will highlight multiple muscles in the illustration. Five exercises include a Stretch Animation feature. Simply tap the “See Exercise in Action” to watch the exercise in motion as it is performed, it then pauses to show muscles that are “called out” using text labels and leader lines.
This app emphasizes proper, safe stretching of all the major muscle groups from head to toe. If your ultimate goal is a more flexible body that is less prone to injury, performs better during daily activities and athletics, and is less susceptible to common aches and pains, Stretching Anatomy is just the app you need.
Additional stretches for shoulders, back & chest; arms, wrists & hands; or knees & thighs are available via in-app purchase.
This app is compatible with iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad.
